After letting the game with Edinburgh slip through its hands last week, the Trinity Lutheran football team made sure the same thing didn’t happen on Friday night.
The Cougars scored early and often in defeating Traders Point Christian Academy 54-8 at home and moving to 2-2 on the season.
“It was good to get back in the win column,” Cougars coach Anthony Levy said. “It was cool playing my friend, (Coach) Kyle Johnson. He came out and watched us last year, and I asked him what he was doing, and he said, ‘I am coming to see my future.’
“He is exactly where we were last year, and he is struggling with numbers, football IQ and struggling with a lot of kids who don’t have any confidence. They are smart and polite kids, but they are where we were.”
