Trinity Lutheran’s soccer team dominated the ball from the start in shutting out Henryville 8-0 in Wednesday’s opening match of Class A Sectional 59 at Salem.
“A shutout is definitely good in sectional,” Cougars assistant coach Brandan Tabeling said. “We had a game plan going into this game. We wanted to try and strike early, get an early lead and let our defense do what they do good, which is hold teams back and limit shots.
“I think our keeper (Luke Onken) only had to make about three saves this game, which is always a good thing when you can keep the ball away from your keeper and keep the ball on your half of the field. That is something we had a game plan going in, and that is something I think the boys did a good job of executing.”
