Trinity Lutheran girls basketball coach Mike Lang left the Bollinger Athletic Complex on Monday night with a much better feeling than he did Friday when his team played Eastern Greene.

The Cougars lost to Southwestern (Shelby) 62-46 on Monday night after losing 46-39 to the Thunderbirds.

“Our effort tonight was 100 times better than it was Friday night,” Lang said. “A loss is a loss, but this is a loss we can learn from because we worked hard. It’s not about who we’re not playing with right now. We know we are turning the corner, and we’re getting a lot of kids some valuable experience to be a dangerous team down the stretch.”
