Trinity Lutheran’s volleyball team entered Thursday night’s home match against Springs Valley ranked No. 5 in Class A with a 3-1 record, while the Blackhawks were ranked No. 6 and came in at 6-1.
The Cougars made quick work of the visiting Blackhawks with a 25-21, 25-12, 25-11 win in the Bollinger Athletic Complex.
“Overall, I’m really happy with the way the girls played,” Cougars coach Chelsey Hackman said. “We did have a couple lax moments, but I think you’re going to have that. We’re still working on that.
“Communication is a big thing that we’re working on, and it was a lot better tonight than it normally is, so I’m proud of the girls for improving on that. They did do a lot of things we’ve been asking them to do, so I’m happy with that, and I’m glad they could pull this out in three.”
