On Wednesday at Seymour Country Club, the Trinity Lutheran girls golf team managed to shave 18 strokes from Friday’s season-opener.
While several individuals improved their scores, it wasn’t enough to defeat visiting Oldenburg Academy, which won 218-231.
“We shot 249 the other day, and we shot 231 today. That’s a huge improvement,” Cougars coach Greg Personett said. “The course was playing in excellent conditions, and the greens were very fast. The ladies struck the ball well, but our short game is still something that needs to be improved, and we’re going to address that and work on it.”
