Trinity Lutheran suffered losses of 7-3 and 3-2 at New Washington.
In the first game, Trinity scored three runs in the top of the third, but New Washington took a one-run lead through four innings and added three more runs in the sixth.
The second game was tied at 2 going into the bottom of the seventh. New Washington had a runner on third base with two outs, and the Mustangs hit a ground ball to the pitcher, who tried to go for the out at home but overthrew, allowing the winning run to score.
Trinity’s Taylor Reynolds had two hits in each game, including a triple in the opener, while Haylee Barker combined for three hits on the day. Kaitlyn Wright was the losing pitcher in both games.
