Luke Stuckwisch made two free throws with 3.1 seconds remaining to boost Trinity Lutheran’s boys basketball team to a 50-48 win against West Washington in Friday’s Springs Valley Sectional semifinal game.

Cougars coach Aaron Rudzinski called a timeout with the scored tied with 8.1 seconds to go.

“We had a ball screen up high and wanted to get (Stuckwisch) going to the basket,” Rudzinski said. “If they didn’t play help-side, we were going to go all the way in for the layup, and if we drew the guy from the corner, we were going to kick it out to Jacob (Christopher) for a shot.
