Sarah Stuckwisch pounded seven kills on 11 hits and had a block here and there.
Hannah Barker was 13 of 13, with two aces from the serve line, and set up teammates for kills all night.
And Kyra Klosterman ran all over the court, making sure the volleyball didn’t hit the floor. She also led the team in serving, going 15 of 15.
The three Trinity Lutheran volleyball seniors did what they do best in Tuesday’s Senior Night match, and they helped the Class A No. 5 Cougars pummel Henryville 25-14, 25-11, 25-10. Also honored were four-year manager Lindsey Gray and first-year manager Miranda Dixon.
“It was nice to come out here and play tough. We didn’t let a lot drop,” Klosterman said. “We still have some things that we can perfect and work on. Of course, it’s never going to be perfect. But I thought we played well tonight, and we did well pushing through all three games instead of just letting up in the second or whatever.”
Stuckwisch broke a 2-2 tie in the first set with a kill, and Barker later served five-straight times to build an 18-9 lead and force a Henryville timeout. The lead bubbled to 24-12 on Stuckwisch’s kill and block on back-to-back plays and, after a couple of Hornet points, Haylee Barker’s kill gave Trinity a 1-0 match lead.
