Council OKs chickens as pets

The great chicken debate is over, at least for now.

The Seymour City Council voted 5-2 Monday night to approve an animal control amendment that allows residents to keep small flocks of chickens in their backyards.

The amendment restricts to six the number of hens people can have and bans roosters because of the noise they make.
