Jackson County Republicans will caucus Monday to elect a new member of the Seymour City Council and a new county prosecutor.

Party Chairwoman Melissa Zabel Acton has called a caucus of Republican precinct committee members for 7 p.m. in the Jackson County Courthouse annex in Brownstown.

People interested in filling the seats must send letters of interest to Acton by 7 p.m. Friday. Paperwork for filing a letter of interest is available in the Jackson County Clerk’s office at the courthouse.

Clerk Amanda Cunningham Lowery said letters must be filed with Acton, although people often file both with the clerk’s office and the party leader.
