This winter, several basketball players at Jackson County high schools have their mother or father as a coach.
Some claim they leave the game at the gymnasium, while others said they like talking about the sport at home.
Kasandra Rieckers, who has started throughout the season for the Brownstown Central girls varsity team, said she likes playing for her mother and head coach, Karla Rieckers.
“We talk a little bit (about basketball) at home,” Kasandra said.
“The fun part is we can go and talk about plays and how we can make ourselves better and really improve, and she makes me a lot better because we can work together at home on stuff.
