County finalist for preschool funds

Jackson County emerged as one of 18 finalists to receive state funding for pilot preschool programs targeting low-income children.

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration announced Wednesday the selected counties are in the running for more than $10 million from the early learning pilot grant program established by the 2014 General Assembly.

The news excited Dan Hodge, director of the Jackson County Education Coalition.
