County golf teams ready for sectional: Battle for regional berths should be fierce

Over the past few years at the girls golf sectional at Otis Park Golf Club at Bedford, a couple of favorites have claimed the top two spots to advance to regional.

But the third and final spot has been a toss-up among three or four teams.

It appears to be that way again this year.

“It always is every year,” Brownstown Central coach Jennifer Chastain said. “Number one, it’s sectional, and two, anxiety has built up with the girls a little bit. They know they have the possibility of going on to regional, and that’s exciting for all of them.”

Chastain and Seymour coach Noelle DeHaven think host Bedford North Lawrence and Madison are the top two teams, and the final spot is up for grabs.
