Candidates for Jackson County treasurer want voters to look at their experience and backgrounds when deciding whom to vote for on Election Day.
Democrat NaLona Deputy Bush of Crothersville served three terms as Crothersville clerk-treasurer, and Republican Maria Fisher has worked as first deputy in the county treasurer’s office for the past year and a half.
Fisher said she decided to run for treasurer to continue moving forward in her career.
“It’s an advancement for me,” Fisher said.
Because she has worked in the office, she said she understands how it works.
“I feel I am the best candidate,” Fisher said. “ I’m honest, and I have a knowledge of the office.”
