County issues travel watch

Jackson County is under a travel advisory watch, which means weather and road conditions are threatening public safety.

Below freezing temperatures and blowing snow are causing north and south roads to drift closed creating hazardous driving conditions, Duane Davis of the Jackson County emergency Management office said Tuesday afternoon.

"During a watch, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations," Davis said.
