County solid waste board to help with fair restroom project

Plans for eco-friendly toilets produced financial help from the Jackson County Solid Waste Management District for an improvement project at the fairgrounds.

The solid waste board approved a request for $35,000 to help with the purchase of environmentally friendly plumbing fixtures for a new restroom building under construction at the fairgrounds.

Approval came after fair board member John Schafstall discussed the project with the board during its May meeting.
