More local residents on the job

Seventy-three more Jackson County residents were on the job in October compared with a month earlier, but the unemployment rate remained the same as September’s revised rate.

That’s because the county’s workforce grew from 21,241 in September to 21,414, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development’s October Employment Report.

Jim Plump, executive director of Jackson County Industrial Development Corp., said the newest numbers point to one thing.
