County unemployment rate rises

But the addition of 520 people to bring the workforce to 22,250 had an impact on the unemployment rate, as it climbed back to 5.0 percent during the month.

That’s because 1,109 people said they did not have jobs and were looking for work, according to the state Department of Workforce Development’s monthly report released Friday.
