In Jim Ward’s 25 years as the golf professional at Seymour Country Club, he always envisioned establishing a city tournament.

Ward and former Shadowood Golf Course director of golf Todd DeHaven tried to get something going over the years, but it never worked out.

Shadowood began operating under new owners in August. General manager Ryan Myers had been involved with a city tournament in Columbus, and talk began in December about starting one in Seymour.
