Seymour continued to show its support for the arts Sept. 29 during the annual fundraising auction “An Artful Affair.”
The event grossed more than $20,000 to support the operations of the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts and its many programs.
“All of these people coming and supporting the art center makes me feel good about how important and alive arts are in this community,” executive director Warren Baumgart said.
Baumgart said the money raised at the event usuallly helps to support the general operations of the center, which aren’t covered by grants, as well as toward scholarships supported by the arts center.
On top of supporting the center monetarily, he said the event helps those in the community who might not know a lot about the center to see what programs are available.
