Crothersville Christmas concert set for Thursday

Crothersville Elementary School will present its Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the high school gymnasium.

The elementary band will perform “Good King Wenceslas,” “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” and “Up On The Housetop.” The elementary choir will sing “Happy Winter” and “Reindeer Rock,” featuring the first-grade students.

Third-grade students will play “Jingle Bells” and “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” on the chromatic bells.

Students in kindergarten through fifth grade will perform this year’s Christmas play, “The Town Hall Christmas Tree.” The play will feature members of the elementary choir. Songs will include “Such A Busy Time,” “The Postman’s Song,” “The Cookie Song,” “Balloons for Christmas,” “Carry In Those Boxes,” “We’re the Winder-Uppers,” “Department Store Santa,” Department Store Photographers,” “Chimney Sweep,” “Want to Buy A Christmas Tree,” “I’m So All Alone” and the finale, “Such A Busy Time.”

Admission to the concert is free, but those planning to attend are being asked to bring in one canned food item to support the Crothersville FFA chapter’s Christmas Food Drive.

The music department is under the direction of Peggy Adams and Joe Law.
