Crothersville man indicted in third bank robbery

A Jackson County man previously indicted for two bank robberies in southern Indiana now has been indicted in a third in the northwestern part of the state.

Billy Joe Dugard, 36, of Crothersville was charged in an indictment with the bank robbery of a Lafayette Bank and Trust branch in Demotte, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the FBI in a case that has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Chang-Adiga.

On Aug. 30, Dugard was indicted on two counts of bank robbery by a grand jury with the New Albany Division of U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana, federal officials said.
