WEST LAFAYETTE — Several Crothersville High School track and field athletes competed in the West Lafayette Individuals Meet on March 3 at Purdue University’s Lambert Fieldhouse.
In the 55-meter hurdles, Chandler Nehrt placed fourth out of 23 girls in the preliminaries with a time of 9.92. In the finals, she finished fourth in 10.23.
Nehrt qualified for the Hoosier State Relays, which are set for Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan University’s Troyer Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
In the prelims of the 55-meter dash, Eric Prewitt placed 37th in 7.03. There were 72 competitors in that event, but only the top eight advanced to the finals.
Prewitt also ran the 200-meter dash, as well as Johannes Schickling. Prewitt finished 51st in 26.17, and Schickling was 66th in 27.05. There were 78 boys in that event.
Logan Oakes ran the 400-meter dash and placed 49th in 1:03.01, and there were 53 boys competing.
In field events, Ean Lakins competed in the high jump and Jake Akemon threw the shot put. Lakins didn’t place, but Akemon’s heave of 43 feet gave him a fifth-place finish out of 31 throwers.
