It was a night Dr. Charles Calhoun won’t soon forget.

With fancy footwork, a beautiful woman in his arms and help from a few friends, Calhoun and dance partner Tammy Lewis stole the show at the first Dancing with the Seymour Stars.

The event raised around $60,000 to be split between the Boys & Girls Club of Seymour and Seymour Main Street. Each agency will use the funds for operating costs and special projects focused on youth and revitalizing downtown Seymour.

“I lived the dream tonight,” Calhoun said after being named the winner of Saturday night’s sold out show. “And I got to dance with a beautiful woman.”

Nearly 500 people filled Celebrations event hall to cheer on the nine pairs of dancers.
