Schneck Medical Center is offering a program to educate the public about diabetes: Can You Control the Ups and Downs of Blood Sugar?
People with diabetes have too much glucose, commonly referred to as blood sugar, in their bloodstream.
Diabetes can negatively affect the whole body, including the cardiovascular system, circulation, eyesight and kidney function.
The current number of Americans diagnosed with diabetes is 18.8 million, along with another 7 million people who remain undiagnosed, according to the American Diabetes Association.
