District chooses, hires leader

The school board hired a new superintendent and, with an expected enrollment drop, agreed to keep two teaching and one cleaning position unfilled this fall and phase out an assistant principal position.

Superintendent Jim Terrell recommended the actions to Brownstown Central Community Schools trustees Tuesday night.

Middle school Principal Greg Walker, 43, will replace Terrell, who announced his retirement earlier this year, effective Dec. 31.
