Downtown pocket park reflects family, community pride

Plenty of cold glass bottles of cola were on hand for the official opening and dedication of Steinker Platz in downtown Seymour.

More than 100 people gathered Friday morning at the recently completed pocket park on South Chestnut Street and raised their drinks in toast to the late Sarah Steinker Stephens, after whom the park is named.

The toast also honored the Seymour community and all those who contributed to helping make the park a reality, said Todd Stephens, Stephens’ oldest son.
