Dozens file to run in primary



More than two dozen people made the trip to the Jackson County Courthouse to file declarations of candidacies in the first three days of the primary filing period.

None of the newest filings set up races for the May 6 primary election.

The newest filings include Karen Metz, a Crothersville Democrat, who plans to seek the county Council District 2 seat. That seat’s presently held by Seymour Republican Leon Pottschmidt, who is in his first term.
