When Seymour High School classes resume in January, there will be about 40 fewer seniors.

McKinlie Smith, 17, is one of those who won’t be returning.

She has completed all requirements needed to earn a high school diploma, but she won’t see that diploma until the end of the school year, when she takes part in the school’s annual commencement exercises June 2.
