Dragons pull off 3-2 win against Braves in MSC match



BROWNSTOWN

When Monday’s Mid-Southern Conference girls tennis match was suspended because of rain, Silver Creek led Brownstown Central 2-1.

The match resumed Friday, and Silver Creek eked out a 3-2 win.

Silver Creek’s Kathleen Hebble at No. 1 singles and Grace Clayton at No. 2 singles won their matches Monday, while Brownstown’s Sierra Trowbridge and Heidi Martin at No. 2 doubles won by injury forfeit.

After losing the first set 6-1 and winning the first four games of the second set Monday, Brownstown’s Kirsten Acker at No. 3 singles finished off a 6-1 win and then won 6-0.

Silver Creek’s Kelsi Scott and Morgan Sharp captured the winning point at No. 1 doubles, wrapping up a 6-3, 6-4 win.
