Driver gets 4 years home detention

A Scott County man was sentenced to home detention and probation in connection with the September 2012 death of a Seymour teen.

Garan Alexander Terrell, 19, Austin, will spend no time in jail following his sentencing Wednesday in Jackson Circuit Court by Senior Judge Bill Vance.

Terrell entered an open plea sentence on a charge of causing death when operating a motor vehicle with a Schedule I or II controlled substance, a Class C felony. The charge stems from an incident that led to the death of his girlfriend, Danika Collins, 17, Seymour.
