Austin got its 3-point shooting going in Friday’s game against U.S. 31 rival Crothersville, and the visiting Tigers couldn’t recover in losing 83-51.
On Austin’s Senior Night, the seniors came through big. Two of them hit a 3-pointer in the first quarter, and the Eagles nailed five more from long range to take a 45-29 lead at halftime.
The home team then outscored the Tigers 24-14 in the third quarter.
Gene Hodge led Crothersville (8-12) with 17 points, and Brian Money added 11.
Austin’s Markus Fleenor took game-scoring honors with 21 points.
On Tuesday, the Tigers will play the host team in the second game of the West Washington Sectional.
