Edinburgh and visiting Crothersville each entered Thursday night’s girls basketball game in dire need of a win.
Lancers senior Jennifer Stinson led all scorers with 11 points and a game-high 19 rebounds to help her team defeat the Tigers 42-25 in a nonconference game.
With the victory, the host Lancers improved to 3-10 on the season. Crothersville dropped to 1-13 and extended its losing streak to 11 games.
Neither team shot well, as the Lancers finished at 24 percent from the floor. But the Tigers made just 9 of 49 field-goal attempts (18 percent) and were outrebounded 60-42.
Despite Edinburgh’s inconsistencies, coach Bob White said it felt good for the Lancers to get the victory.
