Editorial: Annual Oktoberfest benefits community

It’s time to get your polka on and pull up the lederhosen.

Although for many children Wednesday night’s carnival rides will signal the start of the 41st annual Seymour Oktoberfest, the downtown festival officially kicks off Thursday evening.

That’s when the Seymour High School Marching Owls will usher in opening ceremonies and officials will crown a prince and princess — young children who have collected penny votes to help others.
