The designation of Cummins Inc. as the No. 1 company in the country by a multimedia financial services company was a long time coming for the Columbus-based engine maker, its leaders, its employees, its customers and this region in particular.
The honor given the manufacturer by The Motley Fool in its release of the Top 25 U.S. corporations recently was based on Cummins’ “environmental leadership and workforce development.”
It is impressive just in looking at the list of those companies that were ranked below Cummins. It included the likes of Google, Colgate-Palmolive, Costco, Pepsico, IBM, Intel, Starbucks and Coach.
