Editorial: Dialing 10 digits not a big concern



Have you been diligently dialing all 10 digits when making a local phone call?

No? Neither have we, and neither has anyone we’ve queried about whether they’re practicing for the addition of the 930 area code, which is to go into effect on Oct. 6.

The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor back in March recommended that we prepare ourselves for the added work (basically a 43 percent increase in time spent dialing a number, in case you were wondering) by beginning to attach the existing 812 area code to all of our local phone calls.
