Editorial: Economic outlook looks promising

A panel of Indiana University economists offered a slightly optimistic outlook for our region’s economy last week during a meeting in Columbus.

The panelists said South Central Indiana should see modest economic growth next year, adding perhaps 2,000 new jobs, if global and national risks don’t cause unexpected bumps in the road to those potential gains.

Ryan Brewer, assistant professor of finance at IUPUC, was cautiously optimistic when speaking to about 100 folks gathered for the program.
