Duke Energy earned a thumbs-up with its decision this summer to include 94 acres at Seymour’s East Side Industrial Park in its 2013 Site Readiness Program.
The utility paid McCallum Sweeney Consulting of South Carolina to study the property, examining its strong points and weaknesses to make recommendations for better marketing the property to industrial clients. It also paid Banning Engineering of Plainfield to look at the property and develop some prospective layouts.
McCallum Sweeney’s work went beyond the property, however, including a review of the community and its assets and liabilities.
