Editorial: Everyone must help eliminate bullying

United We Stand — an outgrowth of a Leadership Jackson County class project and now a campaign led by Girls Inc. of Jackson County — is again bringing Jim Williams of Brentwood, Tennessee, to help area residents, teachers and students fight bullying in our communities.

The program is an effort worth supporting in a variety of ways, including taking the time to attend the programs planned for late September and early October and by opening your wallets and purse strings to support the effort financially.

Girls Inc. and volunteers are committed to see the seed Williams planted in the form of anti-bullying education continue to take root and grow. Bullying is not going to go away without this continuing education, organizers say, and they’re right.
