Editorial: Expanding tourism good investment

Local officials hope a study of tourism’s impact on the Hoosier economy in 2012 will help others realize what we’ve known for some time — Jackson County has much to offer tourists.

The report’s Jackson County data, released in January, show tourists spent $71.3 million while visiting our community in 2012.

Tina Stark, executive director of the Jackson County Visitor Center, said she hopes the report helps generate more visitors and more investments in the community.
