Editorial: Fair shows effects of local agriculture

The Jackson County 4-H Fair, which runs July 21 through July 27 at the fairgrounds near Brownstown off State Road 250, is one of the biggest gatherings of people in our community.

For many of the thousands who attend, it is an experience to be enjoyed. Many volunteers at the fair take vacation time to ensure they can help their church group, 4-H youth and other organizations have a successful fair.

It is also an event that serves as a reminder of one of the most important influences on the day-to-day life of every person who lives in Jackson County — agriculture.
