Sadly, it seems our news pages in recent days, weeks and months have been filled with the deaths and tragedies resulting from wrecks on area roads and highways.

Among them are the June 1 death of a Freetown woman killed in a two-vehicle collision on State Road 258, the Aug. 16 death of a Medora High School girl in a hit-and-run collision near Leesville, the death of a Vallonia man Aug. 28 who died when his motorcycle struck a tree limb on State Road 135 and the Aug. 31 death of a Seymour man who died after a one-vehicle wreck on a county road south of town.
