Editorial: Franklin man worthy of leadership honor

The Tribune

Ted Bishop is no stranger to Jackson County golfers. He has been a familiar face around the Hoosier state, serving as secretary and then vice president of The PGA of America.

Now Bishop will serve as the group’s 38th president, elected during its recent annual meeting in Baltimore.

Bishop, 56, the general manager and director of golf at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin, has played a key role in the organization of the Indiana Golf Foundation.

His efforts in the early 1990s helped establish the Indiana Golf Academy and the expansion of the Indiana Golf Hall of Fame. The Legends Golf Club is home of the Indiana PGA Section and Indiana Golf Association.
