Jackson County United Way remains short of its $910,000 goal to help finance the operations of 20 member agencies as the 2012 drive nears a close.
As of Monday, pledges totaled just more than $702,000, or about 77 percent, the organization’s new Executive Director Tonja Couch said Tuesday.
At one time, United Way’s mantra was “People helping people.” Nowadays, it’s “Live United.”
The slogans change, and so do those leading the office, but the mission of the Jackson County United Way remains consistent — and worthy of our participation.
