The holiday shopping season we now find ourselves in is considered one of the most important periods of the year for retail businesses.
Certainly retailers are dependent upon the buying mood of the American public over the next few weeks leading up to Christmas as the majority of their annual revenues are generated in this short span of time. However, businesses are not the only ones that have a stake in this time frame.
The ripple effects of this particular season spread throughout the infrastructure of every community. Jobs can be created or eliminated based on how well individual stores perform from the last week in November to the day before Christmas.
