Editorial: Tornado awareness always important

As reporters of the news, we can think of few phenomena where what fails to occur is just as important as what does. Weather would certainly be one of them.

Think of your reaction to the classic tornadic pattern we watched unfold throughout the day March 2, 2012. It didn’t matter if you were watching television, Tribtown.com, some other website or the skies, we all had the same concerns. And by the day’s end, we all had the same sigh of relief.

No news, in this case, really was good news. Unless you lived in Henryville. Or Marysville. Or Holton, where a former Seymour man was hospitalized with injuries that eventually led to his death earlier this year.
