Thumbs-up to municipal, county and state road workers who put their lives on the line as they work to keep roads safe for travel. They’ve been put to the test several times already this winter with many more winter weeks ahead of us.
And let’s not forget those first responders who helped people out of floodwaters just after Christmas when the East Fork White River crested at 19.1 feet, the 10th-highest crest on the books. Area officers helped more than a dozen people who found themselves stranded when their vehicles stalled in floodwaters.
