Thumbs-up to utility workers who often find themselves working in all kinds of weather to help restore electricity following storms. That was the case last month when a series of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes roared through the Hoosier state. We appreciate their hard work and efforts to restore order in our lives when storms bring havoc into them.
Thumbs-up to area residents, businesses and groups that have contributed toward this year’s Jackson County United Way fund drive. The goal this year is $825,000. To contribute or to learn more about the drive, call the United Way office at 812-522-5450. The drive, which has been extended, is nearing an end, now set for Dec. 13.
