Editorial: Weekly rewards 5/30/14



Thumbs-up to Seymour High School officials and the folks at Covered Bridge Health Campus who helped arrange for Charlotte “Lottie” Mitchell to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a recent Owls baseball game. Mitchell is a longtime baseball fan. She threw the pitch before the start of the Owls’ game against Jennings County on April 25.

Thumbs-up to Sue Walther and Bud Walther of rural Seymour. Sue recently retired as the director of the Crothersville Senior Citizens Center, and Walther will soon retire as president and chief executive officer of Community Foundation of Jackson County.

Thumbs-up to Aisin USA and JLM Pharmatech on their recent announcements of planned investments and new jobs at their Seymour operations. Aisin plans to spend $6.4 million and add 33 jobs. JLM will invest nearly $2 million and add eight jobs.
