Editorial: County should adopt voting centers option

There’s good news on the horizon for voters in Bartholomew County, good news that we’d like to see repeated here in Jackson County.

The Bartholomew County Election Board has unanimously approved adopting voting centers, which could be used for the first time in the 2015 Columbus city elections. It still needs approval from the county commissioners and county council.

All counties now have the option to adopt voting centers, and Jackson County officials have reviewed the law and how the centers work. So far, though, they’ve yet to approve the centers for use here.
